Recommended bandwidth

Network bandwidth is one of the key factors in maintaining a high-quality call service. This page describes the recommended network bandwidth to use LINE Planet.

Note
  • Because LINE Planet adjusts the bitrate according to network conditions, actual network usage might vary depending on network conditions.
  • In the following, "up" and "down" refer to upstream bandwidth (bandwidth for transmitting data from the device to the server) and downstream bandwidth (bandwidth for receiving data from the server to the device).

1-to-1 audio call​

  • 30–100 kbps (up/down)

1-to-1 video call​

  • VGA resolution
    • 700 kbps (up/down)
  • HD (including FHD) resolution
    • 1.2 Mbps (up/down)

Group audio call​

  • 30–100 kbps (up/down)

Group video call​

  • Thumbnail resolution
    • 120 kbps (up)
    • 120 kbps per participant (down)
  • QVGA resolution
    • 200 kbps (up)
    • 200 kbps per participant (down)
  • VGA resolution
    • 1.0 Mbps (up)
